Important dates in Höörs Plåt's history

1937
The company was founded in 1937 in a disused forge in Höör by Tage Fors under the name of T Fors Plåtslageri (sheet-metal works). Its first year’s turnover was SEK 4,000! Production mainly covered constructional sheet, coking piles, and producer-gas plant.

1942
The company with its six employees moved to its own premises on Ringsjövägen. At the new site, production was extended to builder's hardware, sand-spreaders, snow-ploughs, oil tanks, dustbins, switchboxes, and exteriors for Thermos flasks.

1947
Turnover expanded to SEK 143,000 and number of employees to 13.

1949
Near the end of the year, manufacture of oil stoves began, something which would become the basis for rapid expansion of the company.

1952
During the year, 1,800 oil stoves were produced, and turnover reached SEK 628,000.

1953
Husqvarna placed its first order for 1,300 oil stoves.

1954
Conversion to limited company. Oil-stove manufacture continued to increase. Volvo, Saab, and Asea were new customers for punched and pressed sheet.

1962
Total manufacture of oil stoves reached 35,300, with turnover up to SEK 6.6 million.

1966
Husqvarna acquired AB Höörs Plåt, with Tage Fors continuing as MD. Started manufacturing Husqvarna kitchen fans the following year with production of 75,000 units.

1970
First drying cabinets left the factory this year.

1972
Tage Fors retired and lawn-mower production moved from Husqvarna to Höör. Turnover exceeded SEK 20 million.

1976
Electrolux acquired Husqvarna, and Höörs Plåt then became a wholly-owned subsidiary of Electrolux.

1979
Manufacture of Thermos flask outers moved to Strömstad, while manufacture of grocery cupboards (top cabinets of fridges/freezers) moved from Mariestad to Höör.

1982
Production increased this year with security cabinets for Husqvarna. Product group sold to Håbeco in 1996.

1986
Total responsibility for Husqvarna heating and ventilation transferred to Höör, and continued to expand rapidly during the rest of the eighties.

1993
Increased marketing efforts for sub-contract work in parallel with continued production of grocery cupboards, drying cabinets, and manual lawn-mowers for the Group.

1994
Company attained ISO 9001 quality certification.

1997
Company attained ISO 14001 environmental certification.

1999
Half of the company’s SEK 120 million sales now lie outside the Group, with finished products and components of larger systems supplied to a number of customers. Just as in 1937, processed sheet metal lies at the heart of all manufacture.

2003
Power lawn-mowers produced for the first time in the company’s history for marketing by Husqvarna.

2005
The Electrolux board of directors decided to spinoff the Electrolux Outdoor Products.

2006
Husqvarna AB becomes a Listed Company on the Stockholm Stock Exchange.

2007
Höörs Plåt has it's 70th anniversary and invites to an Open House and dinner and entertainment for the employees.

2008
The two wholly-owned subsidaries of Husqvarna AB, AB Höörs Plåt and Klippo AB merged and changed company name to Husqvarna Manufacturing Sweden AB.

2009
The company becomes a centre for manufacturing of high-end walk behind lawn mowers with the brands Husqvarna and Klippo.

A cooperation initiates with a company that market products for storage and illumination in wash- and bathrooms.

Höörs Plåt launch the HP-lift - The new Höörs Plåt. The company also starts to manufacture a new low energy consumption drying cabinet. At the end of the year the manufacturing of lawn mowers is transferred to Poland.
